What is Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)?
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) has a high concentration of white blood cells, fibrin and stem cells. This composition stimulates collagen and stem cell renewal, leaving smoother, more youthful-looking skin. It can also be placed in the scalp to help hair growth. When placed in the desired area for regeneration, bioactive proteins or growth factor contained in platelets set to work activating stem cells and dormant skin cells or hair follicles. Improvement is seen in skin appearance and health. As this is achieved using your own blood, there is no danger of an allergic reaction.PRF is a concentration of components derived from a patient’s own blood. It contains white blood cells, platelets, fibrin, and other cellular elements. These are prepared and reintroduced to the body during a medical procedure under the guidance of a qualified healthcare practitioner.
PRF is sometimes used to support skin health or address concerns such as signs of ageing or hair thinning, though individual outcomes may vary. As the product is autologous (from your own blood), the risk of allergic reaction is considered low.
What is the difference between Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) are both autologous preparations. While PRP has been used in various medical and aesthetic settings for some time, PRF is a newer method that does not require additives or anticoagulants and is believed to release growth factors over a longer period. Both are offered only after a full consultation and clinical assessment.
Treatment Process
All treatments involving autologous blood products begin with a
comprehensive consultation with one of our trained medical professionals. This
ensures suitability and provides time to discuss your goals and medical
history. If deemed appropriate, a personalised treatment plan will be developed
for you.
